That Card App: Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 30, 2026

Data we collect

None. That Card App does not collect, store on a server or share any personal information. There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and the developer has no way to see what you learn.

Data stored on your device

The words you add, your learning progress, the language packs you downloaded and your settings (language pair, theme, sound) are saved on your device so they are there next time. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you delete the app.

Network requests

The app connects to the internet for two things only. First, when you choose a language pair, it downloads that pair's dictionary and example sentences as plain files from a public GitHub repository (github.com/ysevastianov/that_card_app_dictionaries), and checks now and then whether a newer version of the files you installed exists. Second, it loads its interface fonts from Google Fonts. Like any web request, these reveal your IP address to GitHub and Google; nothing else is sent, no identifier, no account and none of your words. Their own privacy policies apply to those servers.

Speech

Words are read aloud by your device's own text-to-speech voices. Nothing is sent anywhere for this.

In-app purchase

The app has one optional tip (Coffee Tip). It is paid through Apple's In-App Purchase, so Apple handles the payment and the developer receives no payment details. The tip unlocks nothing.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page.
